Discussion about
We received our new RE tax bill which said we'd been overcharged by $12 and needed to pay nothing. BUT there was a terribly ominous note at the bottom reading, "There are outstanding charges, other than real estate taxes, that have been billed against your building on common condo billing lot xxxxxx. These charges are partially your responsibility. Please contact your managing agent, so that these DELINQUENT charges are paid, to avoid the possibility of being included in the next Tax Lien Sale." Is there a place online to find out what this is? Of course I can call tomorrow, but I'm not going to sleep well tonight with this hanging over my head. Um, happy birthday to me.
Condo buildings have lot numbers starting with 75. Take the block number from your own bill and find your condo building at http://nycprop.nyc.gov/nycproperty/nynav/jsp/selectbbl.jsp. For lot number, start with 7501, then 7502, etc., until your building comes up.
E.g., for block 1170 the condo at 200W79th is 7501 and the Apthorp is 7502.
Work backwards through the Quarterly Statements of Account until you get to the charges. There might be some for signs, for Rent Stabilization fees, and so on.
Hmmm, thanks very much NWT. I just went through all statements since we've owned the place and this is the first time this message has appeared. I knew I have no memory of seeing it before. Curious that I could be delinquent on a bill I haven't received, but I'll call the management office tomorrow and find out what's going on.
