Any recommendations on finding a buy-side real estate attorney for entering a non-broker deal? Is it improper or inadvisable to ask the broker you've been working with for a recommendation? Where does one start with references and how do you cross reference fees and capability if you're new to the area?

IIf you've been working with a broker, but are buyig a place without the broker, don't ask him/her for referral, unless you somehow expect to reward/compensate broker for the work that they have done for you. I am not a broker, and have done transactions with and without brokers, but a broker will feel cheated if you do a deal on your own.
