Discussion about
Any suggestions on how to get a short-term rental for 6 months in a doorman building on UES. I am moving to the city for a job assignment that is 6 months and doing the move on my own (without company funds or assistance!). I have tried everything and can't seem to find any buildings that will allow for a 6 month lease. Please help with any suggestions!

TRP Properties - 212-421-5631.

I haven't used them in years, so i don't know if they are still in business. I used them for apts for visitors. Weekend, weekly, monthly rentals. They either owned/managed rental/condo units in doorman buildings throughout the city with many units on the eastside. Also try googling "corporate rentals, NYC"

Good Luck

A good real estate agent could sort this out with a few calls, but will charge a one month commission minimum. Seems like it would be money well spent in your case.

If you are moving in or after May, I can sublet you my place for 6 mos. But need to know exact timing. No broker's fee or anything. Extremely reasonable. Currently renovating my new place which will be completed by April & at that time, I would still have approx. 6+ mos left on my lease, which I do not want to break & lose deposit. In Midtown west though, but very accessible by mass transit.

Find a condo for rent by owner and sign a one-yr lease with a six month opt-out.
