How about it...is everyone as happy up here as the bldg description says? Do the birds really sing...?

Human happiness is very hard to gauge. On the other hand, birds singing is a very common phenomenon, even in NY. Would it help make people happier? I cannot deny that possibility.

What vic64 said. But I will add that I used to live on 105th, though over at Broadway, and I think the west low 100s are one of the loveliest parts of the city. If you want to be by the park, this location is excellent. But it's something of a walk to grocery stores and the like. I can take or leave the birds, but it is a very peaceful part of town, and that's worth a lot.

I feel that this far east on the west side is still a bit iffy in terms of the neighborhood. Closer to Riverside and West End is where it's really nice, IMO. But this group if streets, from about 100th to 108th is still nothing to scoff at. Best to walk around yourself, spend plenty of time there, and see for yourself. But again, my personal preference is more west, closer to Broadway, and closer to the retail, etc.
