Refinance Closing - Physically show up?

.. My last 2 refis I e-signed papers via email and all went well.. ...this time this new bank wants me to show up at refinance closing to sign - is this normal for refi? I've showed up at closings for buying and selling, never a refi.. wont have a lawyer at refi but Im comfortable enough reading a HUD statement, but just seeing if this is our of blue to physically show up to refinance closing thanks

Banks want docs notarized/notary present - that's why they want to see you signing in person. Often a closer offers to meet you at a place convenient to you ( including home ) - the fee is usually $150-200 in NYC. Not sure what would the fee be if you were to go to their office.
