Discussion about
We were contemplating a bathroom renovation. A shower would replace the existing bath. The toilet would we switched out but remain in the current spot. In an ideal world, the bathroom would be extended by 3 feet and the single vanity would be replaced by a double vanity. The plumbing for the vanity would remain in the same place. Would wet over dry issues really preclude such an extension? Are there particular challenges with installing a shower on the footprint of an existing bath?
Oxymoronic,
Just about every time you increase the size of your bathroom it would be considered wet over dry ( unless the downstairs neighbor for some reason already had theirs done like that)
The only challenge when changing from a tub to shower is getting the drain centered. Sometimes you have to live with it off centered or raise the shower higher then it otherwise would be (if your building lets you chop the concrete floor then its not a problem but most do not allow it)
