Broker not doing her job, finding my own tenant

I own a co-op and I hired a broker to get it rented out. I don't feel like she is doing her job. As such, I found my own tenant. I never signed anything with the broker, am I liable to pay her commission? FYI, this tenant is out of state, through my own network and did not even know of the broker's listing.
