Discussion about
I realize these are small neighborhoods, but what would be considered a good target/prime area within these two neighborhoods? We are new to NYC and targeting this area to purchase for various reasons. We're are woefully uneducated about the area/market, any insight would be greatly appreciated as we start this process. Thanks!
It's a small neighborhood. Walk the streets and see.
Smith Street and Court Street are the main drags in Cobble Hill. Brooklyn Heights prices are slightly more expensive, but really, they are very, very close. In this market, similar to Manhattan prices. They are small neighborhoods, so everything is pretty "prime." Although the closer you get to Hicks St. in CH the more the prices drop (long walk to subway, less retail, more run-down buildings). Same thing with Hoyt and Bond on the other side. Similarly, the more towards Carroll Gardens you get, the cheaper it is. Walk around and see what kind of block you want to live on. There are also plenty of agencies around there, so stop in if that's how you want to conduct your search.
I can help you for sure. I personally own in Brooklyn Heights & sell throughout all the areas. I use to live in Carroll Gardens as well. contact me at johnlydon@nycviewsrealty.com
There is no cost for me to represent you as a buyer. I represent your best interests by our code of ethics & still collect my fee from the listing agent who represents the seller. Its a win-win for you. :)
Wow, that was quick! It's begun already. hm606, I urge you to do some research on here before you succumb...
Doesn't hurt to read neighborhood news to get a feel of the area. Below are several websites which should be helpful. Just place the names in Google for the website address (streeteasy thought I was spamming when I included all the links).
