Discussion about Gramercy House at 235 East 22nd Street in Gramercy Park

hi I am thinking of buying in this building. I would appreciate any feedback anyone has - experiences good or bad; how the board is; anything you wish you had known prior to your purchase? Thanks!

I live in this building and it's Amazing - the staff is amazing, incredibly well run, never had any issues (lived here 2 years) The only thing I wished I had known before buying is FIND OUT if the electric/plumbing has been updated because if you want to redo anything in the apartment (even if its cosmetic) you will need to upgrade which is expensive.

Dear Purple32: thanks for the info. Can you hear your neighbors? Are the walls sufficiently thick?? I LOVE the building and its many interesting studios. I've heard it's magnificently managed as well.

Wondering about their no-subletting policy. That, with the 40% down, worries me for the future.
