Discussion about
How much do you pay a cleaner per hour in Manhattan? Lets say he/she does 4 hours once a week cleaning a condo and you pay cash. Many thanks

A cleaning GUY, however, can run you about $200/day.

But he's well worth it, typically spending the ENTIRE day in your apartment (not just rushing through a few hours and cutting corners), doing not just the cleaning each week but also a "big" cleaning project, your laundry, and even your shopping and running errands.

I paid $120 till it's clean. She worked for 6 hrs so it works to about $20/hr as well.

I have never used a cleaning service because I like to have the same person come to my apartment each time and I don't know that a cleaning company can guarantee that. Some of it depends on the size of the apartment, but at a minimum I would guess you need to pay at least $80. And that doesn't guarantee 4 hours of work unless you are there with specific directions as to what needs to be done. At least that has been my experience. I have had housekeepers who clean the same apartment in as little as 2 1/2 hours to one who stays 5-6 hours.

I don't care how small your apartment is, it's physically impossible to clean an apartment appropriately in just 2 1/2 hours without cutting major corners.

"but also a "big" cleaning project"

... remember, Matthew, that this is still a family website. Keep your sad fantasies to yourself, please.

Matt, how big are the corners in your apartment?
