fumes from apt under renovation

Discussion about
What more can I do? Adjoining apartment undergoing renovation. When I enter my apt the fumes is noxious. Coughing/unpleasant. Tolerable only if I leave all windows open-- all day and ALL NIGHT. Complained to on site Super but no change. Next step? Management agent? New owner (not yet moved in)? Thanks

Definitely managing agent. There are not too many parts of an apartment renovation that should smell that bad, if it's done properly. And perhaps a friendly call to the new owner if you have their phone number -- try to be positive, though, just keeping them apprised.

Jem,

I would talk to your super and he can talk to the contractor. They can tape up all the vents and even the outlets to keep the order contained. The only cause for a order is if they didn't cap the plumbing lines or are using oil based paints or poly.
