Are the monthly property taxes really $5k? http://streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/976227-house-36-03-13th-st-long-island-city-astoria Previously I could cross reference a few things and within minutes figure out if this was accurate or not on my own. After a laborious 15 minutes of going back and forth to find 10% of what I need, I realized that comparable size houses in the West Village with $10mm price tags have monthly taxes that range from $1500-$3000 per month. I can't say enough how much some of us really need the old taxi back. It's now day 3 and it's not funny anymore, guys. In fact it's a little scary for people that use it as a business tool.
That is a yearly tax bill, so it is a streeteasy malfunction. Queens listings show their taxes on a yearly basis not a monthly one.
Oh and Nah I totally agree with you on how much of a joke or not a joke this new website format is. The streeteasy was soooo much better.
SE doesn't originate the data. SE's condo-oriented format expresses RE taxes as per-month, while more house-oriented outfits use per-year. So, either SE didn't divide some incoming feed by 12, or the broker put a yearly amount in a monthly slot.
