But see, that's the problem.

It never WAS "her" home -- she was RENTING it.

Why are seniors so surprised when landlords raise their rents? That's how renting works; the rent goes up. Never down. Always up. And it matters not whether the tenant is 19 or 119.

Perhaps Cecilia should have done a little more during her "green years" to feather her nest during her "golden years". Or maybe even take steps to buy her OWN nest.

Which brings me to another point, which is this stunning sense of entitlement among these Section 8 recipients. It's not the government's responsibility to pay for your home! Why not have one of your "grown sons" take you in?

The sense of entitlement in this country is unbelievable. In other parts of the world entire families live in one room and are grateful for the shelter. And the notion that the gov't should also be subsidizing this old biddy's sons to visit is priceless. The cheap bustards can't get a hotel room? C'mon.

Matthew, you are renting your apartment from your coop -- see your proprietary lease. Your shares in the coop are owned by a bank -- you didn't have the money to buy them. The government is subsidizing that bank in myriad ways, subsidizing the infrastructure that serves your coop's apartment that you're renting, subsidizing the energy that lights and heats your coop's apartment, subsidizing the potable water supply and the heating of that water, subsidizing your (quite likely) mortgage default, your transportation for the long long trek to Manhattan from Fort George, your air travel back to Pennsyltucky, your unhealthy industrial corn-based diet and all the medical care that you require as a result thereof, the research that allows more and more of your unhealthy diet to be made of industrial corn, they dying broadcasting industry, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Cecilia paid taxes to your governments during her "green years" -- thus subsidizing your current "golden years."
