Discussion about
Do you think it is good investment to buy in Harlem with a 7 year horizon or more or it will never take off?

it has taken off only because people rush to buy everything and the crooks keep printing money

the area will be slightly beter in 7 years, but unless your destroy all the projects and send those scumbags elsewhere, it won't be much better

I heard 2 big projects in West Harlem have been bought by private investors....and that they will be converted to coops or condos.

While Harlem has changed dramatically over the last 7 years, it will continue to change dramatically over the next 7 years.

The link above is just focusing along 125th street vicinity and is merely a fraction of the changes that are planned or already in process throughout Harlem.

7 years from now Harlem will have a public school (non-charter) where educated people will hope to send their kids. I don't mean that they will grit their teeth and say, well.....it's free..... These parents will actually want to send their kids there. Once that happens, the sky is the limit.

"educated people" = white upper-middle class freemen. All the subtext of that post -- and there's a LOT -- flows from that.

But it's totally delusional anyway. Or, more precisely, greedily wishful.
