Wondering if anyone who has moved into the building has installed soundproof windows? I would love to find out who you used and how well they work.

Yes,

we are in 2A and we had CityProof and CityQuiet coming over for an estimate. Both of them are very good. We are wainting to talk to the references before we move on.

just curious. why do you need to install soundproof windows in this building? I thought it's on quiet block and it's a new conversion.

Thanks Path. I'm in 3C on the 25th Street side also. You'll have to let me know how they work out. I have motorized shades already on order and I'm trying to see if I need to delay installation as I am not sure how they will work with the second set of windows. I was hoping I could see a set already installed in the building.

Mkratter-I love the area as it fits my particular lifestyle-Chelsea Piers and the dog park are nearby. Although some might consider it further from the center, the West Side Highway also provides me with a quick escape as I live half the week in Westchester. However, I assume you are asking about this particular block of 25th between 9and 10 and not the general area. Obviously the government housing on the block provides a different character than the rest of West Chelsea. Whether some consider the Elliot Houses as architecturally unnapealing or a security issue, its presence would undoubtedly deter some people. However I’ve not had a problem with either concern. Security has been fine and Loft 25 is situated in front of a clearing between the Elliot Houses so most of the street side units have a treetop and sky view. Most importantly I couldn’t be happier with my unit or the building. Hope that gives you some insight.

Masterd-It is a new conversion but as you know with living in the city-it’s quiet at some times loud at others.

Engldc: Delaying the shades is a good idea, we are doing the same. You want them to be as much on the inside as possible to allow maximum airspace between the 2 windows.

Mkratter: I am pretty happy with the area and the building. Certainly it's not the best block in Chelea, but having a 12 ft ceiling and all the amenities at a very reasonable price is very nice.

Masterd: The main issue with noise would be in the very early hours of Fri, Sat, when the club croud is getting pretty active. There is a lot of traffic at that time too. Other than this it's fairly quiet.
