Discussion about
Hi, everybody. I was just about to go into contract on an apartment when I found out that there was high potential for an obstructed view to happen. Currently, the view is already bad. I face north and have a partial view (blocked by an apartment on the street over). Now I found out that part of the view i had (not a great one but at least there was some light/sky) is probably going to be blocked by a new apt building that will go up where a restaurant just went out of business. How does this impact pricing? Value? Thoughts? Thanks.

Views and light are crucial aspects that determine the resale value of a unit in Manahttan. If these aspects are already poor quality, and the possibility exists that due to lot line development you will loose the little light/views that you have left, I would seriously reconsider your investment in this property.
