Here's one of the odder layouts to come up recently: the sellers have carved a second bedroom from the window end of the 14x29 living room, leaving the living room at 12x15 and windowless. Then they squeezed in a little second bathroom. The CW line was originally carved from the dining and service end of the 10-room C line. DR became LR, two maids became BR, another the kitchen, and the kitchen the DR.

That is one ghastly floorplan. It's a pity, as the woodwork, cabinetry, and other finishes look to be of good quality (though I'm not a fan of that grasscloth-look wallpaper). Lots of expensive materials covering up a mediocre layout. It's too bad that 12CW wasn't carved up the same way as 9CW was -- a far more civilized plan.

Same building, 9th floor. Not the same level of finishes as 12CW, but at a similar price I would bet on this going first. The kitchen could be redone later.

I guess the pre-1957 landlord was looking for a certain mix of sizes when splitting up whichever unrentable C-lines were available. On 9 the west apartment got a south-facing bedroom suite that on 12 went to the east apartment.

NWT I noticed that when I tried to find another CW line to compare to the 12th floor. Lucky for 9CW that there might have been a tenant in place at the time of the split up.

Interesting, there's a door in the dining room that does not show on the floorplan.

That's the back door to the freight elevator. You take your garbage out through the dining room.
