If person given POA has to sign the contract

I know there is no problem in giving power of attorney to someone for closing. But it seems like it could be questionable for signing a contract. It's about to be Thanksgiving and then I'm leaving Northamerica for 7 weeks. Any advice?

A PoA is exactly that. They can bind you to either a contract or a closing.
