Does anyone have experience on what happens once the court appoints a referee on a foreclosure action? What is the next step? I want to buy a condo apartment and I found out that last week the court appointed a referee. This is in Brooklyn. Will this property now go to auction? can i buy the apartment before it goes to auction? will the referee sell the apartment in lieu of auction? the mortgage company originally brought suit to foreclose on the property...
