This building has a real problem with roaches and mice (which no one else seems to mind, which tells you something) and is very poorly managed by an outside real estate company. This building has a real problem with roaches and mice (which no one else seems to mind, which tells you something) and is very poorly managed by an outside real estate company. Even as an owner, when you have a problem they are generally not responsive in a helpful way. Just take a look at the trash rooms on each floor - filthy! Looking at the minutes does not tell the whole story. Ask about the floods from burst pipes and what the plans are for replacing all of the pipes! That's not helping the infestations. I would not recommend this building, although it appears to be a good value compared to other bldgs on UWS. There are a ton of tenants living in studio apts. (there are many situations where one person owns numerous apts for investment). It's quiet as long as your neighbors aren't home - then you hear every footstep, pipes vibrating - the walls are surprisingly thin). On the positive side - great location, cool history and some nice people. Not a pretentious building at all. And people at the front desk are generally nice.
