Any success selling a condo without a broker?

Curious to know, both good and bad stories, of people who have tried this in NYC. Obviously a material saving (5-6%) if this can be done successfully. Any views on from others on this, and how you think this relates to condo value? (i.e. people buying condo <$1m maybe more likely to find apartment browsing sites like streeteasy, vs. more expensive apartments where a broker may find other buyers not going through this channel)
