Hi, I have withdrawn an accepted offer but the seller's attorney wants to charge me for the delivery fee of sending the hard copy of the offering plan back. Or else my broker needs to pick it up from my attorney's office. I have never heard about this before and wasn't notified of the charge before hand. Should I (the buyer) pay for the delivery charge? Or should I request my broker to pick it up (I doubt if she will do this as my attorney's office is 1-hour of subway ride)? What if I don't pay for it and let the situation open? Thanks !
I'm fairly certain the seller typically pays for the offering plan, and sometimes the seller's broker will courier it to the buyer's attorney ... but I suppose it's negotiable
It's pretty typical that you are charged for messenger/delivery fees of documents related to a purchase, whether you go through with it or not.
agreed with @swiftykat here. Real estate attorneys don't get paid enough to cover the cost of incidental delivery and messenger fees!
Why can't you just pick it up yourself and simplify the situation if you don't want to pay the fee?

We were even charged for "delivery" of Offering Plans PDFs by our managing agent, so not surprised about hard copy fees.
