I do agree that this presents a security risk to the landlord/owner/tenant. It's not comforting to know that my travel schedule will be openly marketed online along with my exact address...

What about the security of your fellow tenants/owners/shareholders? It's not "comforting" to know your transient 'guests' will be roaming through my building on an ongoing basis. Short-term hotel renting is ILLEGAL in NYC. Period. If you want to AirBnB - move to the burbs.

I cannot get away from it. When I go to Miami Beach it seems to be worse and what were the most residential streets of yesteryear are now nice and loud at say 4 to 5 AM on any given morning. This short term renting is not permitted in Miami Beach either (minimum 6 month 1 day lease) , but try to enforce it.
If security is your concern, I suggest you look into the non-transparent LLC registrations that allow foreign buyers to shield their identities in holding companies and engage in money laundering. That's a better fight IMO.

Why do these laws have no teeth?
