Megatowers in Two Bridges

Discussion about
What are your thoughts on the proposed mega towers in Two Bidges? Totally agree that we should be thinking about sustainability, congestion, etc. ... but aren't megatowers actually the most environmentally efficient way for people to live? I've read about how NYC has a much lower waste production per capita vs. a sprawled city, presumably because there are more efficiencies to having everyone live in a more densely populated area. https://www.boweryboogie.com/2018/09/the-city-is-ignoring-the-environmental-impacts-of-mega-towers-along-the-waterfront-op-ed/

The area is only served by one subway station - the F at East Broadway - which is already a mess and overcrowded, and 1 Manhattan Square hasn't even opened yet, much less the other planned towers.

I would be very surprised to see another of these towers spring up in that area in this cycle.
