Discussion about 35 Devoe Street
How does this only have $402/month taxes with an inground pool?
Because single family homes are taxed at absurdly low rates. You can thank the current and any number of previous mayors for this gift.
Did you look at the house/area. Yes it has a pool but everything else is average (apart from their design......some great color choices/design choices).
My point is that the city has always charged significantly for in ground pools. One of the first uses of technology by the Dept of Finance was to use aerial photography to identify houses with pools because the extra income justified it.
Is there a min size before DOB/DOF call it a swimming pool?
what up with that purple water though?
Purple water = LED lighting. Common pool lighting these day. There appears to be no permit for that pool, and the permit applied for said only $85,000 of work was done.
nyc_sport,
That makes sense, but of the things which people do without permits this one can actually cost you money if your tax bill ends up going up $5,000 a year.
>>Purple water = LED lighting<<
I know, Sport. I was being snarky. I mean come on--purple? Yech.
