Discussion about
My building doesn't have bike storage - where do you guys park your bikes that is indoors, and SAFE? I don't want to keep it in the unit anymore.

Its a great question, but I don't have an answer.

You might want to consider if another building does have it... particularly if its a management company with multiple buildings. Our building has one, and its got bikes from other buildings.

As for "public" ones... I wish... I know they've been talked about, but I haven't seen any. Maybe best bet is a deal with a store owner or super or something like that.

I think the only safe place is your unit.

I'd also check with local monthly-parking garages.

My building has a storage room. I never got a bike until I moved into a building with a bike room.

You can try the Jerry Seinfeld method of putting it on the wall, but that doesn't get it out of your apartment. I will ask around and see if I can find any good iseas for you.

A number of companies make folding bikes. Many will fit into a decent-sized closet. I have two friends with folders - some of them perform very well and don't feel like a compromise. The additional cost isn't very much.
