That people are willing to pay twice as much for crap in New York than gold plated condos in Chicago just shows how much folks think Chicago sucks...

rufus, I personally saw this apartment about a year ago. I can tell you it was FAR from horrendous. Did it need work? Yes, but it was in perfectly livable condition as it was. The major knocks on it were the relative narrowness of the unit and the 5th floor walkup. But that's a pretty great block, with lots of great amenities nearby, proximity to trains, not to mention relative quiet. The sellers were pretty realistic, price-wise, I thought, but the place wasn't quite for me.
