Check your facts, I'm not one of the 2 biggest doom and gloomers, my projections are about in the middle of where most folks on the board are talking.

btw, it would be LAID off. And, I can't get laid off, I'm an owner...
But, I could get laid.

Why are you SO concerned with the employment of specific folks on this board, anyway?
Would it make you feel better about yourself if you you could say "ha, ha".

Are you the new perfitz?

I could get lain, but never layed.

Therefore, I am glad that you are wishing you the best.

"I despise people who revel in others misery." --> "How magnificently ironic would it be if NYC1002 and stevejhx got layed off"

Judging by your logic, you must despise yourself, as you have reveled in others' mysterious misery.

However, like nyc, I cannot be lain off as I own my own business and I am doing swimmingly. Not so much in the stock market, but still making a few thousand dollars a day.

Sorry, steveF!

"hey nice life"

Thank you for being nonjudgmental! I do enjoy my life, and do this board only when I'm bored translating Argentine social security laws, for instance.

If I found anything happy to talk about in Manhattan real estate, I surely would. As I have about Los Angeles real estate, now that prices are rising after falling 50%. It has nothing to do with a "desire" for anyone to be injured, simply that, as far as I can see, there is no fundamental basis for real-estate valuations at these levels. Not the income, the credit, the inventory, the price-to-rent ratio, or anything else to support multimillion dollar apartments that cost only a few thousand a month to rent.

Which is worse, the guy who you think is pathetic because he does X all day, or the guy who FOLLOWS AROUND the other guy commenting on him doing X all day....?

SteveF - now so desperate and bitter that you have to hope for others' misfortunes??

Get back on your meds, dude.

By the way, you never answered my question SteveF - you DID buy within the last 12 months, didn't you? Tell the truth. Or do I have you confused with someone else (petrfitz or houser maybe).

How long Manhattan real estate are you?

Here are a few links from The Real Deal that should put you in a better mood:

How are your properties doing, chief? I bet they're the only apartments in NYC holding their value.

Finally, realistic appraisals of the real estate market. Of course now that LIBOR is down all that will change.

LMAO.

This is a dumb thread. And before you say it, yes, I will stop reading it (or at the very least responding!)

This whole thread is typical of the increasing pointless, unfunny, clutter on these boards.

This thread is outrageous and absolutely inappropriate. Stevejhx and 10022 - my bet is that the two of you need not worry about people like SteveF.... What audacity for even starting this thread in the first place. Kylewest - I agree with your point that this clutter is seemingly increasing. There is no place for a personal attack on these community boards.

Thanks MF, agreed. I don't worry, I'm just occasionally amused.

The motivations of negative posters like SteveF are pretty clear.

it would be tragic to see nyc10022 lose her job. I would not care if nyc1002 lost her job. Layed and laided there's a difference bud.

hmm, stevef you despise people who revel in the misery of others, so you start a thread wishing for someone to get fired? it's odd that you put the word ironic in the title of your thread. apparently you don't know the meaning of the word.

stevejhx "owns" his own translation business. He is not a CEO, CFO or anything else, he just translates other people's thoughts....and into Spanish. Very important work. And his 2nd bedroom in his apartment is his "office." Therefore, no he cannot be laid off. But his existence is about as lowly as it gets.
