Discussion about
The cost of living in NYC keeps getting higher while the city remains mediocre. There's now no doubt that NYC is the most overpriced and overrated city in the country.

So, Chicago isn't even in the same league as a "mediocre" city.

Wow, Chicago gets worse every day. Prices are tanking, and folks *still* don't want to live there.

Next, even the fat girls won't even want to live there.

Chicago does not have city tax, in case you don't know. Also, they don't have rent stabilization and 80/20, which are keeping rent prices artifically high in NYC.

Cracker Boy, it sounds like Chicago is a city of not-haves.

Yeah, just a sales tax over 10%. Sounds pretty communist to me. And don't forget the property taxes...

If Rufus is any indication, all of Chicago's nose is pressed up against the glass wishing and hoping they could be NYC... or, hell, even Boston or SF for that matter.

Or Gary.

Which would be like looking in a mirror instead of through glass.

Uh, ok. We're all on the Chicago boards trying to prop up NYC, too. And fat girls are hot.

Dude, most people in NYC don't even think about Chicago unless we're flying over it or laughing at it. But seems like a healthy chunk of Chicago is obsessed with NYC... you being a pretty compelling case.

Chicago isn't even on the radar. SF, Boston for sports nowadays, Washington DC, maybe. But, Chicago... really now. If you weren't on this board every 30 seconds, most of us wouldn't even think of it for the next 3 years.

kylewest, you're absolutely right. Cracker Boy claimed on this very board that he grew up in upper west side . . . you crack me up, not my cup of tea, luxury prestige everybody agrees that jealous envy better than

Why does he live here if he thinks we should all go west? It sort of undermines everything he says if he is living here but bashing it. So leave. It really isn't that hard. This guy is like those radicals who hate America but say so from the comfort of this country's shores instead of where ever it is they think is better.

And if this clown lives in Chicago, how pathetic a life to spend time reading a NYC RE board.

Rufus, I live in NY and pay Illinois taxes because of its taxation laws and the fact that my husband's partnership was formed there. How awful that I might be subsidizing you and yours. Shut up and move and find nirvana already. What are you, the NYC Chicago relocation committee?
