Discussion about
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/11/15/national/main4607077.shtml NYC is falling apart. Bloomberg has lost control of this city, as the financial crisis worsens, and the city's wealth is drying up, forcing it to cut the police budget. At least the shootings in Chicago happen on the south side projects. In NYC, they happen in the lobby of one of the city's most exclusive hotels! NYC is in decline. There is no longer any doubt about this.

Yeah. That police precinct that was housed in the Waldorf lobby was a really dumb thing for Bloomberg to cut. I just pray the Mayor and police commissioner don't take the precincts out of the other hotel lobbies.

And FWIW, your suggestion that crime is worse when it happens to rich people than poorer people is disgusting. I doubt you believe anything you write anyway since you live in NYC and not Chicago. Or do you? If you don't live in NY, why on earth do you troll this site?

Is it surprising that a shooting associated with a high-end jewelry store happened in NY and not in Chicago? Of course not. Chicago no longer has high-end jewelry stores. They shoot each other in Chicago for chewing gum wrappers, so desperate are things there. And the murder North Side restaurateurs and dump their bodies in the basement. Savages, Chicagoans are. It's post-apocalyptic.
