Conversion of old office buildings into condos is quite common in NYC, especially in the financial district. In Chicago, however, they only build brand new luxury highrises. It's a shame that most of the "new" condos in NYC are conversions of office buildings and old factories. This is just more proof that NYC's real estate is inferior to Chicago's.
