It sounds like NY is severely lacking in gang members. Another sign that NY is deteriorating. The truly unfair part is that the cited article favors an alphabetic ranking of the cities.

Trump is struggling to avoid paying a $40MM loan on his Chicago tower in which sales are beyond tanking. He launched novel (that's being kind) litigation attempting to hold off having to pay the bank. Project is in trouble. Too bad for the 2d tallest building in the city. Hideous as it is, and as horrid as it is for the skyline, it'll be that much worse if it fails. Another masterful gift of Trump to the American aesthetic. Dare anyone to argue the Chicago Trump building that now dominates the city merits even a modicum of architectural praise.

kylewest, the trump international building in Chicago is better designed and offers better amenities than virtually every condo in NYC. The new elysian hotel condo, which is going up, is also superior in terms of architecture and amenities than what NYC offers.

lol rufus, it took a brooklyn boy with a combover to give your town some decent lodging? actually i like chicago a lot, but every city compared to living in manhattan feels like a small town, LA included. i'm sure i'll outgrow it, but in regards to chicago's crime, i actually don't mind - i miss the edge and surreal sense it brought to this city, but that's an entirely different never-ending thread.

The Chicago Trump tower is a laughing stock in Chicago in virtually every quarter. It is the absence of design and a scar on the city's skyline. Its scale is grotesque, its appearance uninspired, its aesthetic unsympathetic or respectful to anything around it. It destroys views, casts an unbelievably long, dark shadow and is generally hated by virtually everyone who lives in the city. Rufus, are you serious? Forget NYC. Just on its own--you think its good? That says a lot about your taste level.
