Discussion about
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/07/realestate/07deal2.html?ref=realestate "This isn’t the sign of collapse; it is a sign of a prudent business plan".. suuuuure...
Thanks for another worthless single post topic. Couldn't that have been added to an existing discussion topic where it would be relevant? I'm sure if you spent a minute you could have found one.
Now some of the other discussion topics of more worth (and that may not highlight YOU) are pushed down and potentially off the front page. Thanks, good job.
Also, thanks for the 5 'u's in sure. Really helps hit the point home for those of us who might not know you are another attention seeking jackass.
vwear .... did you just get laid off?? r u a pissed off broker??
Is there another choice or are those two all you can get your myopic mind around?
VWear, you need to take a chill pill. It's pretty common for people to post real estate articles here. I myself found nyc10022's link interesting.
If other discussions are "of more worth" then they'll be bumped up as more users add comments to them. Telling people not to post is ridiculous. If you want to rant, direct your frustration at rufus who posts how great Chicago is every 5 minutes.
note that this guy has done this on multiple threads by multiple folks.
To me, its pretty clear that this is someone getting screwed in this market (a broker? A lehman cleaning person?) who needs to take it out on someone.
BTW, I think vwear just outed himself as a long-time poster.

So, who has the new alias? LICcomment?
nyc1022, thanks for the read.
What's up with this attitude lately of trashing the darn facts around here?? It is what it is and no amount of sugar coating will change the current economic trends.
not trashing the facts; just trashing loudmouth idiots
ps - I didn't "just" out myself, I freely admitted that fact yesterday. When are you admitting that when you said you'd go away for 6 months that you actually meant you'd go away for a week and repost under the new name?
> not trashing the facts; just trashing loudmouth idiots
A self-hater.... I get it.
So, what previous alias are you hiding again? You didn't answer the question.
"What's up with this attitude lately of trashing the darn facts around here?? It is what it is and no amount of sugar coating will change the current economic trends."
I guess they figure they can stop it by posting enough idiotic comments.
Actually, I get it now... this person doesn't want to be ignored by stevehcx anymore.
Maybe its rufus...
VWear, you have my support (partially). Many people here are hoping for a 50-75% decrease in NYC RE and they seem to think that they have evidence to support their view--which is fine.
I personally find it less than informative to find multiple threads on essentially the same point about NYC RE market collapsing (single-shot thread like "123 West 45th St., Apt. 67, price decrease by 89k!" or a thread on an innocuous news article on the topic, etc.), but I also understand that some people find it useful to have such independent threads.
My point? VWear, I know what you are saying, and my advice to you is to just not even look at posts you don't want to see... Don't reply. Just ignore. The "ignore this person" button may be your best friend!
VWear, just a point of clarification.. when the market was going up... I had my wife, doorman, colleagues, college buddies not wanting to hear my "perma-bear" predictions. I just couldn't understand how one pays for $1000psf apartments (sale) when rental income was $51psf (on a 700psf apartment that $700K purchase, $36K rental income). My wife who is a specialty physician and I'm from a commercial RE family (since 1986 - my family purchased several downtown distressed properties) got outbid by RE BROKERS! and I-Bankers who thought $1MM bonuses were a birthright (full disc. I was an I-banker during 1998-2001). There were several units (e.g. Grand Mill, Toulaine and Lincoln Towers) that I could not justify the monthlies wo doing an IO loan and leveraging up to the hilt. Even now I am renting from a postal worker... yes you heard right... a postal worker who re-upped/re-leased to us for another year cause he doesn't want to face reality that he is gonna get $.5 on the $1. He apparently has a $1.5MM mortgage with an IO loan expiring in a few years.
So please spare me your bitter attitude if we gloat a little. The majority of the people on this Board is 1) rational ab NYC RE 2) is not "emotional" about RE as we believe it is just another class of assets - which fundamentally must be able to Cash Flow to have "value" 3) understand that tulip manias do occur 4) words without truths are quickly relegated to the dustbin. Keep the "CHOP" list going people.... there are plenty of brokers that need to get another profession going.... on a philosophical point of view... I am not sending my kids to private school so they can say DADDY, I want to be a RE broker... and I can guess most RE Brokers never uttered those words as a 5 yo. :)
"So please spare me your bitter attitude if we gloat a little."
That was a good summary of it all. You don't like my attitude, and you even cite your own attitude as poor (gloating isn't a good characteristic), but your bad attitude is ok and my bad additude isn't when judged by you.
I guess someone can't tell the difference between W67 gloating a little, and you being a complete putz, telling folks what they can and can't post.
If you don't want to read the article, don't.
But, jeez, if a newspaper thinks its newsworthy, make 1-2 folks in the entire city care to read it.
You have the gall to tell everyone they can't?
btw, well put W64
Is VWear just having a bad day or is s/he an a$$hole? Judging by the post, it may be the latter; stay tuned!
I agree its the latter, I think the question is just WHICH ahole it is?
;-)
thanks for the link - I wouldn't have read the article otherwise
there were several symptoms of a crash I had posted a few months ago were not yet upon us, and eddiewilson or someone else had said that they were happening at that point - I take this article as evidence new developments are failing, though they haven't admitted it yet
You are welcome.
It is funny how transparent the motives of VWear are. The topic is "worthless" because he doesn't want anyone to know. Thats beyond denial, thats delusion....
Like Lowery, I wouldn't of seen this either, and find it pretty relevant. VWare, had you already read this and now you are annoyed because you don't need to read it again and its pushing your favorite posts down 1, and potentially off the page; are you annoyed because you don't like the article and its pushing your favorite posts down and potentially off the page; or are you just a total idiot, and you don't like your favorite posts being pushed down and off the page. And those, my douchebag friend, are the only three possibilities my myopic brain could come up with, you fuckin idiot.
VWear, don't worry about it dude.
dmag.... ha....
yes that was very clever, good job
very clever
"So, what previous alias are you hiding again? You didn't answer the question."
nyc10022, should you be throwing stones regarding previous aliases? I think not Mr. EddieWilson.
