This is a bit off topic. Saw Kevin Phillips on CSPAN booktv "In Depth". Phillips' latest book is "Bad Money: Reckless Finance, Failed Politics, and the Global Crisis of American Capitalism". Found a Bill Moyers' interview of Phillips which is posted below. The implications re: NY real estate are almost secondary to the big picture presented. Comments? ... [more]

brilliant 90022.

I am not familiar w/ Phillips, but he equates the US with being about 10-15 years away from becoming like post WWII Britain. I don't think he sees the US recovering from the damage done.

Perhaps this is not the right forum for this discussion.

If that were to happen, I don't know why it would take 10-15 years.

Wouldn't Japan in the 90s be a better doomsday comparison?
