Discussion about
Just cross-referenced open houses, UWS and Manhattan Valley. SE shows 2 open houses in Manhattan Valley, while NYT shows at least 74. What's the story?

I believe brokers themselves have to update the streeteasy open house info and many don't get to it.

R U saying brokers are too lazy and stupid to do something that is clearly in their interests?

Always, when brokers list their open houses in olr they should update to the NYT & Streeteasy.Make sure you are checking the same day. In the NYT somethimes I've found Saturday & Sunday open houses together. Just a thought.

Always- not to make things more complicated... but rumor has it that soon some of the major companies are going to stop using the NYTimes as the major venue of advertising their open houses and properties, due to the fact that the times has dramatically increased its online advertising costs in the past couple years, since their print readership has gone way down, and they are passing this cost on to advertisers.
So it could be that within the year, you will have to go to the individual agency sites to get the most accurate info, unless a competitor website at a lower cost than NYTimes jumps in on the opportunity.

nycbrokerdax - if it's been a couple of years, then why there is no competition to the overpriced, sloppy, difficult to navigate NYT? I would be the first one to happily, HAPPILY abandon them in the dust.

Careful, SE only shows for the day you select and the default is the day you search (so Saturday. NYTimes shows all OH's for at least the next 2 weeks.

always, from my understanding they recently REALLY jacked up the prices, and so the powers that be at the big two firms have had enough and already get so much direct web traffic that , should they both agree to withdraw from NYT it would be a major blow, but it would be more annoying for buyers to have to look at all the different sites and print stuff out from Corcoran, Halstead , Elliman, Brown Harris Stevens and so forth, so hopefully someone will come up with an alternative.

Brokers do not have to update open houses in StreetEasy unless they are teeny tiny. It should be automagic for almost all of them. If you find a open house that's not in StreetEasy, then just email it to support@streeteasy.com and we'll investigate.

Also, if anyone has thoughts as to how they would like the open house search, or the open house planner to work better, send them to support@streeteasy.com. We have all the data, but have never really loved our own interface for OHs.

I think 90% of OHs occur on Sunday and that should be the default day for searching. I'll forward this suggestion to support.

You were checking Saturday not Sunday. SE listed many OH for Sunday. You have to set the day.
