Herbert was a strong supporter of the free market. He opposed government intervention. So free market ideas are nothing more than Hoovernomics. Read some Paul Krugman. You will learn a lot. HE recently wrote a great piece called "Deficits and the Future" and another called "Fifty Herbert Hoovers" I suggest you read them.

I read him every week. Deficits suck, I've been saying it for the past 8 years when they were unnecessary. Now - thank you John Maynard - they are needed. Which is EXACTLY what P.K. said.

Alpine, if you're a supply-sider (one of the few left) history will prove you wrong. There is no way out of this other than what we're doing. For the banks. I don't like it either, but banks aren't car companies. There is no DIP.

I suggest you read the history of the Depression. And Krugman.

Everyone should print the Obama portrait, frame it, and hang it in your living room. Why? Because I said so. Do it or else NO stimulus plan for you!
