Discussion about
http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/closing/780053 At least as it reads today at 4:44pm, this place sold for $10, at a whopping $0/sq. ft. Either someone went insane, or streeteasy has a data hiccup?

yes, I saw, same, but that didn't clear things up for me. Can you actually enter a transaction with yourself? Is this some practice I don't know about? What is the purpose of this? Or is it an entry screwup?

The timing suggests tax reasons for transferring title in 2008.

Dick Fuld just did this with his wife in Florida. I think that happens more there because...

1) private houses, not co-ops (which won't like the comps)

2) Florida protects houses in bankruptcy, no matter how expensive....

its why all the US spammers actually live in FLA...

Customary token consideration. It doesn't mean anything.
