Renters are such loosers. I'm selling an apartment for a client and have a bidding wars, and I wouldn't ever sell to a renter looser because you can't aford it. Plus it wouldn't be exceptable to my client to sell to a renter. The market has bottomed out and every body knows it now. You can see little worried renters wanting to buy but they can't, boo hoo. It is weird that Ivan is shouting "renter" at many here who are actually owners in the NYC RE market. They've engaged in hundreds of discussions on Street easy for months or years. This is a fairly educated group contributing on here. Personally, I have owned one or another property in NYC since 1989 in addition to second homes. But that is beside the point since these Ivan rantings (hopefully they'll continue) are supplanted Real Housewives of NYC as my favorite cringe-inducing morsels of humor.

I read through this thread and am amused and disgusted at once by broker Ivan. First, there is the top-student-in-GED-program spelling and grammar skills. Second is the bitterness and anger of someone who is obviously quite poor financially and discontent personally. Anyone who has any wealth to speak of and any emotional tranquility would not be pouring vile onto strangers. Third (and I may be sticking my neck out a bit) I think Ivan is Russian. Ordinarily this would be irrelevant, but I could not help but pick up on a couple of things (other than his name). Russians, especially men, have the propensity to use intimidation and machismo in business dealings and negotiations; as if challenging the other side to prove that they are not a chicken and do so by hurling insults at them. Also, the way Ivan pairs words ('renter idiot loser') is very commeon in the Russian language. It is as if Ivan is speaking Russian but with English words. Oh well, good luck, Ivan. Personally, I know I've managed a higher standard of living in my condo vs what I had as a renter. The rental and ownership products are different. As a renter I did not like knowing that my lease might not be renewed each year or that I might have to pick up and go. As a condo owner , the common charges have no profit component. I would not have bought if the cost were out of line with renting, but having done it I'm glad that I did....plus I did a great deal of due diligence and I'm up over 100% even now although I was up little more 18 months ago...
