Vandenberg was founded by Dexter Guerrieri and Jane van den Berg Ordway in 1990. Dexter was raised in the mountains of Colorado, the fifth generation of a ranching family. An excellent horseman and a competitive team roper, Dexter was also raised with an eye on real estate, watching his parents strategically sell land to expand their ranch. Dexter moved to New York City in 1979, and began working in real estate shortly thereafter.

In 1989, Dexter decided to create a real estate company, with a commitment to providing excellent brokerage and superior service. He and his business partner – and wife – Jane van den Berg Ordway, incorporated Vandenberg, Inc., choosing Jane’s middle name as the name for their company. Meaning “from the mountain,” van den Berg seemed a good name to name their joint business.

Dexter and Jane have been inspired by top realtors internationally who have grown their companies by developing teams of professionals, enabling them to expand, while continuing to provide superior brokerage and service. They designed the Vandenberg team and hand selected and cultivated the members to provide the level of service they personally value as townhouse buyers and sellers.
