A new affordable housing lottery has opened for qualified applicants. The units are part of a new, 32-story mixed-use development called 86 Fleet Place. A total of 29 units of its total 440 apartments are up for grabs for those whose lucky number comes up.

Developed by Red Apple Group, whose principal owner is Gristedes Foods CEO John Catsimatidis, 86 Fleet is located in downtown Brooklyn among a group of new buildings that has helped redefine the bustling neighborhood.

Units will range from $833 for a studio to $1,247 for a 3-bedroom, based on income eligibility requirements at 60 percent of the area median income, which ranges between $30,466 for a single person and up to $63,060 for a household of six people.


The lottery is open now through March 28, 2017. Eligible candidates can apply via the NYC Housing Connect site, or request an application by mail by sending a self-addressed envelope to: Red Apple 86 Fleet Place Development, LLC c/o St. Nicks Alliance, Jennings Hall, 260 Powers Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211.
