Take me to church. No — really. This isn’t a Hozier sing-a-long. This is about condo units for sale and for rent in a converted Methodist church in the heart of the Village. Move here and you won’t be losing your religion, you’ll be gaining a cyberdoorman.

The Novare is a condo conversion of an 1860 Romanesque-style house of worship that was turned into 8 loft-like units by architects at FLANK. A stone’s throw from Washington Square Park, there are currently two Novare units for sale – complete with stained glass – and a rental:
- For sale: A $3.495 million unit that spans 2,027 square feet is comprised of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
- For sale: A $12.495 million penthouse duplex that covers 3,500 square feet, also has an additional 500 square feet in terrace space (photo below)
- For rent: A $11,900/month garden west unit rental just under 1,800 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The city has no shortage of churches that have undergone condo redevelopment. The Abbey at 205 East 16th Street contains 32 units in what was a formerly St. George’s Church in the heart of the Gramercy neighborhood. It has one unit listed for sale:

It has gone up at 438 East 12th Street at the site of the old Mary Help of Christians’ Catholic Church and contains 82 units, some of them ready for sale.
