Parting with real estate can be sweet sorrow, and in the case of fashion designer Elie Tahari and his ex-wife Rory, a 2010 divorce led to selling off a pair of SoHo apartments for $3.2 million and $22 million. But it looks like Rory got to keep the spectacular summer house in a swanky section of Sagaponack. The East End of Long Island beachfront property at 135 Crestview Lane is now available for $450,000 for the month of July, or $800,000 for the entire summer.
Billed as a “famous fashion designer’s private oceanfront retreat,” this is the first time that the property has ever been available for rent. And just to reassure us common folk that there is a market for these kinds of rentals, Bill and Hillary Clinton have shacked up in $400K Hamptons’ rentals, as have Jay-Z and Beyonce.
The home is located in Sagaponack’s only truly private oceanfront enclave and sports 250 feet of exclusive beach rights. The high-beamed, open floor plan channels all that ocean air and sunlight into a pretty awesome mix of rustic chic. It was “curated” by designer Tom Flynn.
There’s a secluded master suite that boasts ocean views. There’s also a huge shower, a six-person pool-like tub, an office/getaway, and a private balcony overlooking an inviting great room.
