Building Description

230 Riverside Drive was built in 1931 and converted to condominium in 2004. This full-service doorman building is a beautiful example of pre-war architecture located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, offering unique apartments with an old-world feel. The building has studio, one, two and three bedroom condominiums across the street from Riverside Park. Residents can enjoy the outdoors along the Hudson River or simply enjoy the great city and river views from their comfortable UWS home.

Apartments that were renovated by the sponsor were completed at various stages over the last decade and have been completed with different levels of craftsmanship. Most units have kitchens that are equipped with the finest appliances and materials such as Subzero refrigerators, Miele ovens & dishwashers, white Italian lacquer cabinets, stainless hardware, quartzite stone countertops and solid oak floors. They have bathrooms containing Calcutta gold-honed tile, Watermark accessories, custom vanities, and heated flooring. There are also some units in the building that were renovated by the sponsor in a more economical sense and are considered not as ‘high-end.’ And finally there are units that were never renovated by the sponsor and were offered to the public as a ‘do it yourself’ opportunity. The sponsor still occasionally offers some of these ‘estate condition’ (or ‘DIY’) units which allow buyers the ability to customize their own investment. All apartments are unique and include beamed ceilings, arched doorways and other prewar details.

The lobby at 230 RSD has an art deco appearance and was refreshed as recently as 2011. There is Botticino stone and mosaic flooring, 12 foot beamed ceilings and crystal chandeliers. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, bicycle room, children’s playroom, laundry facility and separate storage lockers. The building has its own website and notifies residents who have dry-cleaning or packages. The building is located in a fantastic neighborhood on the UWS across the street from Riverside Park and only two blocks from the express subway and easy access to dog walks & the west side highway. Pets are always welcome.
