808 Broadway, located on the northeast corner of 11th Street is a luxury boutique Co-Op, built in approximately 1887-1888 by the well-known nineteenth century architect, James Renwick, Jr. who is best known for his stunning ecclesiastical masterpieces, nearby Grace Church (c.1843) at 802 Broadway and the Roman Catholic St. Patrick’s Cathedral of New York (c.1858-1879). One of Renwick’s later commissions, 808 Broadway shows similarity in style with his earlier works in the Gothic details of the building façade, most notably the windows which display the characteristic pointed Gothic arch, and some of the upper windows with charming “trefoil” arch details.
