but i will tell you this. my husband does a lot of work with the Russians. that place is a freakin' mess. and people go up and down the food chain with incredible speed. so some will want to pick up a toy or two (I hear the Plaza has another group of "hotel/condominiums" that maybe they can unload to them), but i wouldn't expect miracles out of moscow.

I hope we get Black Russians. Or, even better, Nutcrackers/Mudslides. I never really liked White Russians. But maybe they're all too cloying anyway.

Actually Russians with money are smart to buy here. They face political risk in keeping their money at home(i.e. Putin confiscates it). I would think owning Real Estate here has less risk for them than opening up a bank account in NY.

LICC, which owners do i criticize? two, exactly, and not because of where they live, but because i don't care for them. actually, three, forgot one of them.

i don't give a rat's ass whether or not somebody owns or rents, or where. but i think it's rather poor self-promotion to constantly cheerlead buying in certain circumstances, and glass boxes and LIC would be two of those, particularly glass boxes in LIC.
