Chinese food? Really? Yuck... this isn't the '80s anymore. Most of them have switched to serving sushi!?! Pathetic, I know.
If we expand this to Asian food...
Mylasian Grill on W104 is so good that I come from the UES to eat there often.
Great flavors, spices and interesting dishes
Super clean kitchen!!!
No such thing, it's a desert up here. Seriously, the Chinese client I have up here goes downtown for food.
I find Pearl's at Amsterdam and 99th is decent, as is Shun Lee in the 60s.

DG Neary Realty
ProperService, isn't it easier to say that you just don't know?
Ollie's! Where else?
commoner, i think PS's point is that there isn't any, which he's basically right on. shun lee is ok but very pricy. szechuan gourmet is also pricy, but great for szechuan food, although they are on 56th so nto sure how far upthey go. but most of the chinese restaurants are either food + aycd box wine, americanized chinese food or chinese / sushi joints. Ivy's on 72nd surprisingly has some decent dishes.
bigdude2103, Ivy's was my thought, too. Thanks. I've been away for a while, thought some new places opened. Water Moon closed, that was a good one.

you mean shun lee West, the spinoff... Shun Lee Palace, the original, is on E55.
Hunan Balcony is not bad, but it is weird they also have sushi.
In the west 90s, Pearl has the slightly better dinning room, and the free white wine or sake with dinner, which if you drink it, is obviously a deal. Hunan Balcony has the better food IMO, actually serving lightly stir fried crisp veggies. Ordering take out may result in heavier dishes.
how can you not love silk road palace...bob will hook you up with all of the franzia you can swallow...one big party in that place
