Discussion about
I have been looking for a one bedroom co-op on the Upper East Side for a few months (looking for pre-war in a particular region so very few condos in inventory). So many buildings are "no pets allowed". I understand why buildings would not want dogs (barking, jumping up on people in elevators) but am curious what boards have against cats...most never leave apartments and make no noise. Any thoughts?
don't lose your edge alan
People are allergic to cats, cats scratch things (if someone owns the apartment this shouldn't be an issue but if it's a rental building I understand), litter boxes smell, and cat food (as well as dog food) attracts bugs.
How about you and columbiacounty go away?
Riccardo - too funny! And true.
Yes, to say they would have been much better is an understatement
Looks like streeteasy retroactively deleted our WWII mass-murdering dictator and his couple posts, but left columbiacounty and his posts.
The house rules of the board states "no animals" but the building is full of them. There is no mention in the board package about "grandfathered" pets...so it can be reasonably assumed that pets were never allowed but there they are in droves. Of course, yadda ya find a pet-friendly building, etc..but this is the best unit in the best nabe in Mnahttan we have seen when considering size, location, and price.
Cat scratch fever!
I can't believe the house rules say "no animals" but yet the board still has columbiacounty.
House rules of the board should ban " MOTHER-IN-LAWS "
