Just came back from seeing the documentary"Inside Job". A nice scare picture for Halloween Eve. But most of it was common knowledge if you had been paying attention. Before the buyers that are going to these open houses on Halloween get serious, they should consider whether they want to be featured in the next documentary about the mortgage fraud put backs. That is far scarier -- because when the banks suffer from the losses and legal remedies, the government will not be in a position to bail them out again. Then a few might remember that a weird guy on some blog had been calling for $500 psf in Manhattan -- which had seemed crazy at the time.

Maybe the biggest threat is not being featured in the next documentary but that some nutjob will be posting their name and story on streeteasy.

On the 2400 homes that had open houses three years ago? I'd guess that about 85% of them sold.
