This peaceful march called We Are the 99%, was done in solidarity with the #occupywallstreet movement. The movement is entering its second week and is gaining momentum both locally and nationally. Many more rallies and escalating actions are planned for the coming week. The occupation will continue indefinitely. The NYPD attacked the crowd of peaceful protesters and conducted mass arrests of marchers near Union Square with orange netting, sweeping up Reports of some injuries. #OCCUPYWALLSTREET is a people powered movement for democracy that began in America on September 17 with an encampment in the financial district of New York City. Inspired by the Egyptian Tahrir Square uprising and the Spanish acampadas, we vow to end the monied corruption of our democracy. #occupwallstreet is currently located at Liberty Square, formerly named Zucotti Park." Bearish? Bullish? Nonevent? [less]
NYPD is doing a great job of limiting their forum.
Depends if it really gets traction which has so far eluded the org.
Answer: No. None. Zero.
I'd love to say it will hurt it, but this specific event, no effect on Manhattan RE. There are protest in Manhattan all the time.
Increasing crime rated due to poorer economy will have a negative effect.
>I'd love to say it will hurt it
Why would you love to say it will hurt? Aren't you a New Yorker?
Why do you want a bunch of narrow minded anarchists, communists and fascists who barely count real NYers among their lot to hurt anything about New York?
figure of peach HB. i think it has been established that I am bearish on NY RE.
Why do you want a bunch of narrow minded anarchists, communists and fascists who barely count real NYers among their lot to hurt anything about New York?
Again.. I do not think these, "arrow minded anarchists, communists and fascists who barely count real NYers", will have any effect on Manhattan RE prices.
Yes the 99% of americans who wants bankers to take it in the jimmy WILL HAVE NO EFFECT ON NYC RE.
FLMAOZzzzz...
IF there is one issue that cuts across both parties is that fact we have been bailing out the "RICH" .... buffett tax, galss-stegal 2.0... NO FKing effect on NYC RE...
Hilarious.
not to make it political, but if you read some of the comments, you keep hearing talk of "rich Republican bankers," when in fact the largest institutional houses voted left..
it's usually the much tinier retail banks, or a small(er) handful low-personnel/high AUM camps that vote republican, but the majority of institutional WS (at least who put up this current admin) heavily voted Democrat..
If the protesters didn't want to get assaulted by the police, I guess they should have came with mis-spelled racist signs and dressed up like the founding fathers and staple teabags to their hats.

just talking about the this specific protest. I doubt anyone is paying attention to, these "bunch of narrow minded anarchists, communists and fascists who barely count real NYers"
>Yes the 99% of americans who wants
Ridiculous. Ask the people in the 30-40% group if they want to get to the 50% mark and improve their situation, or if they want to be lumped in with the 0-29% group. What's their choice? - waste time fighting the "corrupt" 1% and in turn find themselves associated with a bunch of dirty narrow minded punk anarchists, communists and fascists who actually don't hold their own values?
NYTimes had this interesting stat:
NYC has 2 million more residents than the State of Wisconsin.
NYC protesters - 2K.
Wisconsin protesters at their peak - 100K.
# of dirty apes on west 67th street - 1
