Is there a way to find out when a building was built in manhattan?

The city has it online in various places, e.g. https://a836-propertyportal.nyc.gov

It might not be accurate, though. For example, 475 Park from 1908 was razed down to the steel and rebuilt in 1957, but the city still shows 1908.

Also, for very old buildings, it might be just a guess.
